Fabio C. Barbosa has been appointed as President
of ABN AMRO BANK in Brazil in August 96 as well as President of Banco Real following its
acquisition in November 98.
He initiated his career at Nestle, where he
worked for 10 years, having been involved in Finance and Control. He initiated in Brazil, and then
spent 2 years in U.S.A. and 2 years in Switzerland. After that he joined Citibank in Brazil for 7
years, moving from Planning and Control to Treasury, and then to Corporate Finance/Capital Markets.
From 93 to 95 he was President of LTCB Latin America Ltda. (the Brazilian subsidiary of the
Long-Term Credit Bank of Japan), and member of the board of LTCB Latin America, Inc (the U.S.
subsidiary of LTCB for Latin America Investment Bank).
Mr. Barbosa graduated in Business Administration
at Getulio Vargas Foundation, with an MBA at IMD (Switzerland).
Mr. Barbosa is the president of Febraban, member
of the National Council for Economic and Social Development (an Advisory Board to President Lula);
member of the Board of Petrobras, Care International and Member CNU-Brasil (Conversando com as
Nações Unidas).
