Martin leads global talent management development initiatives that
form part of the "Get, Keep, Grow" strategy for DHL Express.
Key areas of focus include leading the implementation of the
70,20,10 development framework (with the main focus of establishing accelerated on the job
development opportunities), implementing a development scorecard to track effectiveness of
development initiatives and creating visibility of top talent to support an internal hire rate of
85%.
Other key activities include the management of the motiv8 on line
data base, completion of panel reviews and post panel follow up along with the coordination of
global recognition programmes.
Martin joined DHL in 1998 as the HR Manager for DHL in Australia.
His role expended over seven years to include integrations with Danzas AEI Air and Ocean and
Airborne Express. This role also saw him manage the people related aspects to the acquisition bid
of Australia's largest independently owned domestic courier business and the investment in a joint
venture with the New Zealand Postal Service, to create the largest domestic courier business in new
Zealand.
Prior to joining DHL, Martin was employed in a number of Human
Resource Management positions in Australian companies including Coles Myer, Invensys and Amcor. He
has a Bachelor of Business from the University of Technology, Sydney, majoring in Marketing and
Employment Relations.
Married with 2 children under 4 years old (Nicholas & Sophia)
who are teaching him more about himself than he ever thought possible. Red wine, live theater &
seeing as much of Europe as possible are also passions.
