Conferences
During our local and national conferences we can reserve a slot for Your Organisation to train the delegates as well as market the firm. Note that most conferences will have external forum days.
We invite Your Organisation to join other leading organizations in helping us develop Ghana’s human resource base by supporting our conferences both in kind and by offering monetary support towards our conferences.
This is our annual general meeting that marks the end point in our calendar year. The conference is aimed at electing future leaders of the association. This conference also focuses on interaction with external environment through an external forum day.
This conference brings together the leaders and members of AIESEC in Ghana to plan out the direction the National Association will take for the coming year.
Local Training and Motivation Seminar (September)
This is a local conference for the AIESEC Members at Local Chapter level. It is meant for the integration of new AIESEC members to share in the vision and goals of the association for the year.
This year our expansion plan for AIESEC in Ghana hopes to re-open two new local committees’ Central University and Kumasi University as Local Chapters and hope to involve them in such events
This is a key event in the development of our members throughout AIESEC Ghana. The conference will be aimed at giving our members the skills, knowledge and attitude to be able to carry out AIESEC activities. Additionally, our members will receive intensive leadership and management training.
International Meetings
AIESEC in Ghana is actively participating in the planning, strategy building, and leadership development of the international organisation during its annual international meetings. We would invite you to assist in covering the travel costs of the Ghanaian delegations to be able to fulfil our international role and membership.
International President Meeting (February)
International Presidents Meeting is AIESEC's most important annual gathering. It is the annual general meeting, where elections are also conducted to select an AIESEC International team, reports from member countries are presented and AIESEC’s long-term strategic direction is reviewed and discussed. This conference will bring together over 150 top leaders from AIESEC’s 85 countries and territories.
This year it was the 55th Meeting. It was held in Romania, from the 18th – 27th February 2005. The theme of this conference is “Things can be different ”, representing the essence of AIESEC: the need for us as youth to act as the initiators of change in their communities and be the centres for driving innovation and voice in the global and regional arena.
The African Exchange Conference and Leadership Development Seminar is an annual event of AIESEC International, held in four (4) different locations all around the world. This conference is the biggest in all continents and it is the place where strategies are developed for the growth and direction of the organisation. This term AIESEC in Kenya will be hosting this conference in Africa from the 20th -27th March 2005.
Africa Exchange Conference and Leadership Development Seminar will be an intense 5-day learning experience involving prominent business leaders, political figures and 200 of AIESEC’s top student leaders from over 20 African countries as they interact and share ideas through innovative forums, workshops and panel discussions.
West African Leadership Development Seminar, WALDS (March)
The West African Leadership Development seminar is a supporting activity of AIESEC and it facilitates practical learning of our membership. Members get the opportunity to interact and network with leading organisations and individuals around West Africa and other parts of the world offering students a unique opportunity around opportunity to gain a culturally enriching experience as well as learn new skills in leadership, team management, project management, communication, corporate social responsibility and entrepreneurship.
International Congress (August)
International Congress is AIESEC's largest annual conference. It is a global platform for young people to discuss issues, to engage in training, and to review AIESEC's long-term strategic direction. This conference will bring together close to 700 top leaders from AIESEC's 15,000 membership from 85 countries and territories.
This year the 57th edition of International Congress will be held in India in August 2005.
Other National Events
AIESEC in Ghana is organising two main networking event throughout the year, which brings all our stakeholders together.
Annual Stakeholder Dinner (May)
Each year AIESEC holds an Annual Dinner that seeks to bring the Association’s members, alumni and corporate partners among other stakeholders including NGO’s, the publics sector as well as members of the diplomatic corps. This is a corporate event that will bring together like-minded corporate personalities and students who have taken up various leadership positions. It will be an opportunity to interact with other people who value corporate social responsibility.
Alumni event (October/November)
The Annual Alumni Day is held every year during November/December. Last year it was held in December at the Ryan’s Irish Pub. This is an event that will profile our partners as we recognize and appreciate our Alumni. We tentatively plan to have two sections this year, a golf event from morning through to the afternoon and a cocktail in the evening for alumni to wine and dine while winding down the day.
