AIESEC LC Bandung History

It starts when some of Brawijaya's students came to explain about AIESEC. Finally, Didi invited eight students of the Facult of Economy from different majors to be the representatives and to be the founder team of AIESEC UNPAD. They are Didi, Pia, Gumay, Joko, Nita, Anti, Darmono, Sylvie, and Tigor.

To gain more information, the founder team went to AIESEC UI, to handle all the process from applying until to be officially established for a year. At first, AIESEC UI have objection for the establishment of AIESEC UNPAD, because it was too close to Jakarta, geographically. However, with their intense approach and confidence, AIESEC UNPAD was officially established, at last, in 1984.

Because the founder team at that time is in their last year in the campus, so they needed regeneration. With, the recruitment and interview process, to have members with the best quality and commitment, finally they have 20 new members for the 1st batch, in the addition from the founder team (batch 0), therefore the number of AIESEC members at that time is 29.

The legalization of AIESEC LC UP was very historical, because at that time the APLDS was coincidently launched in Indonesia, Jatinangor Sumedang Bandung for exact. It was held there with the help of the rector and because the campus' building was just been built. APLDS was attended by 15 Asia Pacific countries of AIESEC. This has made AIESEC UNPAD quite known internationally.

For the 1st year, the organization was focusing on the settlement. It was because there were much objection against the establishment of AIESEC UNPAD for many reasons. AIESEC UNPAD made external projects started from the 2nd year.

Since 1994, AIESEC UNPAD had expanded the membership to all of the faculty in UNPAD, so that our position is not under BEM FE (Student Executive Committee), but as an UKM (Independet Student Unit). Since 1998, AIESEC member recruits around 40 members each year. The purpose was to prioritizes in the quantity rather than quality.

LC UNPAD reached its lowest point when it got disbanded in 2006. Through fierce effort, LC UNPAD has got back to Member in Alert status in February 2007 in National conference in Padang.

In National Conference II 2007 in Bandung, LC UNPAD has received the letter of authority from AIESEC Indonesia to expand to be AIESEC LC Bandung. In National Conference III Malang 2008, LC UNPAD finally reached its Full Member.

In 2008 AIESEC LC bandung officially expanded their membership trough 3 univeristies which are Universiitas Padjadjaran, Institut Teknologi Bandung and Universitas Parahyangan. Now ,AIESEC LC Bandung has around 80 active members
