Project Based on Exchange CHILDREN ISSUE
WHAT’S THAT ?? Children of Tomorrow is one of AIESEC’s many projects. This project will involve exchange participants as the facilitators who would engage in daily activities directly with the children. The exchange is part of the project that will give benefit both learning for the committee and unique experience for the children. This year we focus on developing these children by creating agents of change among them. And exchange is part of the project that will benefit the children with unique experience.
THE OBJECTIVES ?? The vision of Children of Tomorrow is basically aiming for development of children especially the less fortunate one. This year, we're still aiming on such thing by focusing on developing, inspiring, and encouraging children in Jakarta area from different backgrounds to become positive "agent of change" in their communities.
WHEN WILL WE PLAY ?? Opening Conference: February 16th, 2009 Participants: - Invitation from foundations and non governmental organization - Invitation from sponsors & media partners - Invitation from faculty - Camp participants’ parent - AIESEC members Goals: - Give information to all of stakeholders about the project - Set expectation and share opinion about the issue among the stakeholders - Introduce AIESEC to stakeholders - Build relationship among the stakeholders Projected Speakers: - Representative from NGO - Representatives from AIESEC - Representatives from sponsors & media partners

THE PLAYGROUND S O S Cibubur This TN Taker sprawled over three hectares of land, it has 15 houses that constitute home to 137 children. The village is pleasantly laid out and even has a kindergarten, playground and library. SOS villages are the brainchild of Austrian Hermann Gmeiner who set up the first such village in Europe soon after World War Two.The idea was to give orphans and abandoned children some semblance of family life by letting them live in a home setting under the care of a house-mother (carefully selected by the organisation), with either their natural, or foster, siblings. Desa Putera – Jakarta Vincentius Foundation Desa Putera Orphanage was founded on 30th June 1947 inspired by children victims in World War II. The objectives of establishing Desa Putera are to give love, care and education to male children that come from broken home families and from other social issues (children of separate/poor/ill families. Because of they living in a dormitory, their daily activities are have been arranged by the Besides their academic studies, they also have the extracurricular activities such as computer course (once a week), chorus training (twice a week), religious activities, and all the workshops that they may be needed when they're ready to go out from the orphanage. Jakarta Vincentius Foundation is under the umbrella of the Catholic Church, therefore education given other than the formal education is spiritual education that also acts as a religious comfort to the foster children, so as to ensure that they can become human beings , who can perform their work duties and belief.
