AIESEC swings by the Discover Europe Fair

A Special Invite by Electrolux

9 October -  AIESEC was invited by Electrolux to specially promote the AIESEC-Electrolux Global Exchange partnership at its booth at the Discover Europe Fair. The event, held in NUS today, promoted work and study opportunities in Europe to graduates and students.

Electrolux and Sweden’s ties with Singapore can be traced back to AIESEC and in the 1970s. The first Singaporean to visit Sweden was an AIESECer. Upon graduation from university, Mr. Jeyratnam went on to clinch a management traineeship with Electrolux in Stockholm through AIESEC’s Global Internship Program. He served the company for over ten years before starting his own venture. As an AIESEC alumnus, Mr. Jeyratnam is current an active contributor to the youth leadership development scene here as a Board of Advisor for AIESEC in Singapore.

Since the Global Exchange Partnership between AIESEC and Electrolux officially began in 2003, more than 110 internships in 24 countries have been offered by Electrolux. “The ‘ go-get-it’ attitude and international mindset of AIESEC members fit perfectly with the entrepreneurial Electrolux culture. It is no wonder that we have retained over 60% of AIESEC interns and are working to offer ever more attractive positions,” says Ann Gardmark, Director of Talent Management at Electrolux.

With the strong support of exchange partners like Electrolux and alumni, AIESEC continues to make a positive impact on society by activating leadership amongst youth.

This year AIESEC is celebrating 60 years of activating youth leadership. If you’re an AIESEC alumnus, contact us to join the celebrations and reunite with fellow AIESEC alumni on the 13th of December!
