Exchange Process

Here you can see in more detail all the steps for participating in the Global Community Development Program. Your Local Committee will help guide you through this process.

Come to an information Session

Come to the next information session of your nearest Local Committee:

• find out more

• meet AIESEC, and perhaps someone who has been on exchange previously

• We also welcome your parents to attend

You can find the details and contact information of each of our four Local Committees through the menu in the top-right of this page, or below for the Local Committees currently recruiting .

If you are unable to attend the information session, a member of your Local Committee will be happy to meet with you personally.

If you are interested in going for this experience, just fill in the application before the deadline.

Prepare for your selection

A member of your Local Committee will contact you and can answer any further questions you may have. You will need to:

• Plan your budget for the experience: including travel, any visa costs, travel & medical insurance, application fee, and any spending money.

• Talk to your parents and make sure they have no problems with your participation in the program.

• Prepare and send us your CV.

• Book at time for your selection interview. Each Local Committee will have a range of times you can pick from.

Selection

The selection process aims to ensure that everyone participating in an AIESEC exchange is suitable and will have a positive experience. You will need to meet with your Local Committee, the process includes:

• formal interview for selection, to assess your suitability

• payment of the fee

• enter your details into our global database

Welcome to the program

Shortly after the selection time, your Local Committee will arrange for all the newly recruited participants in the Global Community Development Program to meet and:

• learn about AIESEC

• you may be invited to take up other opportunities such as our Team Member Program or join one of our conferences

• meet AIESEC members and the other participants of the Global Community Development Program

• learn about how we will confirm your final destination and internship

Confirmation of your specific destination & internship

You will work with a member of your Local Committee, who is trained to manage your account on our global database and find you the internship that is the most suitable according to your academic background, your preferences and your potential. We aim to find you the perfect 'match'!

• communicate with AIESEC in the host country

• immediately after this you should arrange your travel requirements

Final Preparation

The preparation stage is crucially important to ensure that you are ready and to make the most out of your experience in a personal and professional sense. It is also important for us to ensure that the people participating in this program are good ambassadors. AIESEC can help in the following areas:

• Logistical preparation: ensure that you are physically and legally ready to travel to another country to do your exchange.

• AIESEC preparation: ensure you know the regulations and requirements of the program, and you can contact and work with AIESEC in the host country

• Cultural preparation: help you gain an awareness of the issues facing the world and the community, preparation on your specific country and how to cope with the pressure of living and working in a foreign environment

The Global Experience

The most fun and fulfilling step from here is going to the host country and experiencing life as an intern. You can make the most out of opportunities for cultural and social activities, while having an intense learning and development on your internship.

AIESEC will help you with the readjustment process. We hope that your experience opens up a world of possibilities for us all and to create a better society.
