About Us
Two years ago AIESEC Mayagüez was activated to provide a real and proactive opportunity for Mayagüez Students to develop their potential. We are “Colegiales” that take challenges and see the world as an opportunity.
Our members are interested in leadership development, world issues and making a real positive impact on society.

Local Activities
Currently we are developing a project around the thematic of Tourism Development in the Western Region of Puerto Rico.
We are organizing a Global Village. An event that will bring Mayagüez Students and Residents the experience of an International Environment.
At the same time, the Mayagüez Extension is tasked with the organization of the AIESEC Puerto Rico National Conference, with over 100 expected delegates from Puerto Rico and International Regions.

About the City
Mayagüez is located in the center of the western coast on the island of Puerto Rico, about 2 hours in automobile from San Juan. Founded in 1760. Today, Mayagüez is the fifth-largest city and is considered one of the most important cities in the island, center of Portal del Sol region and the host of 2010 Central American and Caribbean Games. 

The city has become a major college town, creating a vibrant culture for students and young professionals. Besides the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez, the city also hosts the Eugenio María de Hostos School of Law, Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico, and Antillean Adventist University. 

Among Mayagüez's main attractions you will find the Yagüez Theater, the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez historic campus buildings, Juan A. Rivero Zoo, and the impressive Spanish-style Plaza Colón.
