My AIESEC Experience  

I joined AIESEC in March 2001, just after making an exchange year in the Netherlands during a high school term. I thought it would be nice to help other people have the same powerful experience I did just a few years before. Looking at the past I can say not only that my expectations have been fulfilled, but they have been completely exceeded: these years became a milestone in my life.  The leadership experience I gained during my presidency of AIESEC in Italy gave me the chance to broaden my horizons and do things I would have never been able to do without it.  Besides this, I have been able to build a great network of friendships and contacts from all over the world which can support me: wherever I am, I will never feel lonely.

                                                            Why did I join UBS?

When I decided to apply for an internship, I sought an experience which could further enhance those skills and abilities that I developed in AIESEC.  While looking for the perfect choice, I immediately understood that UBS was the place where I really wanted to be: a company with a strong background and a great sense of recognition, which could further enhance my capacities in fields previously unknown.

  My role as AIESEC Trainee in UBS

I work in the Marketing & Communication team for IB Switzerland in a specific project concerning the structured product market. What I really like about this experience is the opportunity to further develop my project management skills with the chance to learn something new in such a complex field.  Although finance is not my specific background, I really feel I am contributing to the team’s development of our activities.  Besides, I can say I am not treated differently as an intern.  The role and the expectations from my team member are exactly the same as for any other employee, and this empowers me every day and makes me feel responsible for the contribution I give in my job.
