Local Committee President

President Anne-Sophie Chiarello

Ideally the LCP has the overview of the whole LC (Local Committee) and maintains contact with the MC (Member Committee) and other LCs around Switzerland, to for example plan joint projects. He is the overall responsible for branding AIESEC among companies and students and in his term will gain a lot of personal and professional skills.

Talent Management

Vice President Albert Gubler

A main task of the TM department is to organize internal and external workshops to develop the skills of our members. Furthermore, it is also the responsibility of the TM team to organize the recruitment campain as well as to plan any marketing activities. The marketing material is designed in conjunction with the other local committees in Switzerland and is then provided by the MC. If you are interested in Human Resources and enjoy working with people, this is the right team for you to join.

There are three teams within the Talent Management department which are:

Tracking Manager

As tracking Manager you are responsible to manage all the necessary personnel and functional information of the entire Local Committee. Your responsibilities range from time / occupation tracking of members, coaching skills, career talks and primarily making this information available to the Local Committee and the Executive Board in a constructive way.

Education Manager

The position invokes the responsibility, to present learning opportunities to the Local Committee. These opportunities include:

  • Non-corporate-related session planning
  • Close cooperation with the AIESEC Academy
  • Close cooperation with Talent Management national support team

You will plan, coordinate and present learning opportunities for the Local Committee.

Marketing Team Leader

As the Marketing Team Leader, you are responsible for the whole internal and external student marketing. Your responsibilities include updating the blog and writing the newsletter on the internal side as well as raising the awareness of the students towards AIESEC on the external side. You lead a team consisting of two to three persons.

 


 

External Relations

Vice President Sereina Pfister

As the incoming interns can only work here if they have a working contract, it is the job of the ER team to get in contact with companies to raise internships and sell the AIESEC product. Networking (which is also good for your personal development), company meetings and telephone calls are the main means to sell AIESEC. For less experienced members AIESEC in Zurich provides regular selling trainings to prepare you for your first company call.

There are two teams within the External Relations department which are:

Business Development Team

The selling team is responsible for selling AIESEC's Internships to possible corporate partners. A Business Developer analyzes our current needs, develop new selling strategies, research the market, network and negotiate contracts. As a member of this team you are responsible for getting new companies which take interns as well as reraising some at current partners.

AIESEC Academy Team

The Academy team is responsible for selling AIESEC workshops and seminars to possible corporate partners. This team analyzes our current portfolio, develop new softskills ideas, research the market, network and negotiate contracts. As a member of this team you are responsible for getting new learning partners.

  Exchange

Vice President Nadine Engbersen

The X department is responsible for all matters that deal with exchange – might it be incoming or outgoing exchange. Close contact to international interns coming to Zurich is guaranteed as well as a good feeling when having helped someone from Zurich to find a suitable internship anywhere in the world. For new members that want to go on exchange soon this team provides all the knowledge there is to find your dream internship. As a member of the X team, you will gain insight into important application processes and hence increase your knowledge which will help you sell yourself better on the job market.

There are two teams within the Exchange department which are:

Incoming Exchange Team

Members of this team are the face of AIESEC for the companies they are responsible for. The team is in charge of all the activities needed after a company agrees to open an internship position for a foreign student (AIESECer) until the AIESECer gets selected. These are mainly: finding, selecting and presenting candidates to the company.

Outgoing Exchange Team

The team is there to support members regarding their AIESEC exchange experience anywhere in the world. The mainly activities are promotion of traineeship opportunities, recruitment of candidates, preparation for their time abroad, assure the connection with the Local Commitee during their internship abroad as well their reintegration.

 


 

Interns Management

Vice President Mirella Haldimann

IM is responsible for all matters involving the interns who are currently on their internship in Zurich. As most of them are not familiar with German, we pick them up at the airport and take them to their arranged housing; we help them with registering at the regional offices (Kreisbüro) and show them around the city. If you are looking for an international experience in Zurich, this is the right team to join.

There are two teams within the Interns Management department which are:

Reception and Integration Team

This team is the bridge between the Local Committee members and the foreign interns in AIESEC Zurich. Members of this team contact Interns after they have been accepted for an internship in Zurich and are the main contact person for all their questions. The team is responsible for welcoming the interns at the airport or the train-station, will accompany them on their way to the registration office and will help them to open a local bank account. As a member of this team you will support the interns during their stay here in Switzerland, which will also mean learning much about a foreign culture and sharing coffee and beer together.

Housing and Social Activities Team

This team will be responsible for organizing social and cultural events for our interns and members with the aim to involve the interns into AIESEC Zurich. Concerning the housing, team members will help to allocate incoming Interns to our flats. In addition to this the team will be responsible for checking the rooms when an Intern arrives and leaves.

 


 

Finance

Vice President Alexandre Krylov

Financial stability is provided by the Finance department whose tasks are to predict liquidity and develop a budgeting plan. All incoming and outgoing payments are processed through this department as well. If you are interested in having insights into accounting and reporting in a professional context with a real budget, this might be the department for you to join.

There is one team within the Finance department which is:

Accounting Task Force

Finance is one of the most challenging tasks within each organization. The accounting task force provides the essential framework for a smoothly running Local Committee. Our local commitee relies for our book keeping on the Banana accounting platform. While working in the Accounting Task Force you will get a deep understanding of professional accounting and you will familiarize yourself with the workflow. In order to benefit of working in this team basic knowledge in accounting is a must!

Career Days

Organizational Committee President Nadja Zürcher

The Organizational Committee (OC) for Career Days (CD) in Zurich is responsible for organizing the Career Days fair which is a company fair held in the Lichthof once a year. Unlike the VPs, the OC works towards this key event. Tasks involve getting in contact with companies to sell stands and workshops at the fair, to organize the logistics in close collaboration with the university, create a marketing strategy and organize the catering during the fair day.

There is one team within the Finance department which is:

Career Days Team

Career Days is AIESEC’s largest project in Zurich. It is a 3-days event that brings companies together with students and will take place in the summer March of 2009. As a member of this team you will be responsible for the planning and preparation - which includes contacting and negotiating cooperations with companies and promoting the event - as well as the execution of the event which involves the coordination of activities and the logistics.

National Conference

The OC for National Conference (NC) is a closed project with a a key event at the end. Before the event you are responsible to raise sponsorship, to keep costs for the LC low, to prepare welcome packages and much more. The responsibility lies in the logistics part, as the agenda of the conference is organized and put together by the MC. During the conference the OC and the extended OC (xOC) is present to make sure that all rooms are ready for sessions, that coffee and tea are present during breaks and that the parties are a success. It is a fantastic opportunity to oversee such a big event from its very beginning to its very end. A lot of personal and professional skills can be gained.
