From 1972 to 1980, he lived in China as founder and president of a trading/consulting
firm.
In 1979, he was in the founding
team of 3Com Corporation with Robert Metcalfe (Alumnus MIT 1968), the Fortune-500 computer
networking company where he was employee number 8, serving as their first head of sales, marketing,
and planning .
From 1992 to 1996: Lived in
Brussels as managing director of an enterprise software company.
From 1996: Senior Lecturer at
MIT Sloane; Managing Director, the MIT Entrepreneurship Center. The mission of the MIT
Entrepreneurship Center is to train and develop leaders who will make high tech ventures
successful.
