"Ms. Sanyal is one of the most charismatic, successful and yet humble people. In a country where comparatively fewer women are currently in senior leadership roles, she is one of the dynamic few, inspiring change and acting as a source of motivation to the many other AIESEC members and women in the country."

- Rishabh Chopra
President, AIESEC India

Poland, 2006 - Throughout her time in AIESEC and her professional career, Meera Sanyal has been a pioneer and a leader of many initiatives that have had a lasting impact.

One of the founding members of AIESEC India, Meera was also one of the very first young Indians to go on an AIESEC Internship and worked in Denmark and in Sweden. Meera strongly believes in the power of this experience to shape a young person's worldview and encourages all young people to do the same.

Today, Meera Sanyal leads the IT, Operations and Corporate Services teams of 17 countries in the Asian region. She joined ABN AMRO in 1992, when she started and built the Project Finance Business Unit in India and has continued to shape the way the bank operates in the region ever since. In 2001 she started up and led ACES (ABN AMRO Central Enterprise Services), which today has a team of over 3500 staff in Mumbai, Chennai and Delhi and provides a range of banking transaction services to ABN AMRO globally.

Meera also actively supports a number of community organizations: the St Louis School of the Deaf and Blind in Chennai; SUPPORT, a Mumbai based NGO that works to rehabilitate HIV+ and drug addicted street children and Sanctuary, which works across the country to protect the environment.

Meera has continued to impact AIESEC India in her personal and professional capacity. She is a member of the Board of Advisors, is involved in the National Alumni Association and has even directly contributed to the Member Committee's salaries. She has played a leading role in the partnership between ABN AMRO and AIESEC in India.

We are proud to induct Meera Sanyal into the AIESEC Alumni Hall of Fame, as a role model and an inspiration to our members and as a prime example of the impact that AIESEC has on the world through the individuals it develops.
