AIESEC Preparation

The understanding that the Exchange Participant has about our organization influences his/her behavior during the internship so we have to make sure that the following minimum preparation is given:

  • All interns must have passed through a structured induction process.
  • Relevance of exchange to AIESEC identity and vision (link to identity toolkit and @ 2010)
  • How to be an AIESEC ambassador- in the workplace and host country (link to examples of sessions)
  • Expectations for AIESEC involvement in the host LC (link to document on expectations settings)
  • Understanding of the Exchange Policies, complaint procedures, and contractual obligations
  • Overview of the exchange measurement system and/or evaluations
  • Set and review personal goals for the internship
    • During their internship they should have a minimum of 4 goal reviews:
    • At the beginning of their internship having as main objective: Re-set the goals for their internship
    • In the middle of their internship having as main objectives: Review the goals they set at the beginning of the internship & set their goals for the next three months
    • At the end of their internship
    • # months after the internship having as main objective: Review the goals set at the end of the internship and evaluate the impact their exchange experience had on them.
Sending LC
Hosting LC

The Sending LC is responsible to provide general AIESEC related preparation.

The Hosting LC is responsible to prepare the intern for integrating into the local AIESEC reality.

The Hosting LC’s AIESEC preparation should begin with basic information prior to arrival but should be more in-depth once the intern arrives in the destination country.
