Venezuela connects at international conference in Mexico
MEXICO , April 2007. Over 150 representatives of youth leadership from more than 20 countries in AIESEC's global network recently came together at the America's Exchange and Leadership Development Seminar (AXLDS) in Guanajuato, México.

Showcasing Venezuela at AXLDS 2007 in Mexico
Ten delegates from Venezuela were among those participating in discussions to develop strategies at national and regional level based around AIESEC's Ser Más initiative. Through this initiative AIESEC is creating a generation of responsible leadership in Hispano-America with experience and passion in Social and Business Entrepreneurship and Corporate Responsibility. ABN Amro, Philips, Pfizer and Artemesia were among the organisations engaging with youth around these topics during the first ever Ser Más learning day.

Through the support of Artemesia, interns working in Social Entrepreneurship projects were able to attend the conference and showcase the incredible work they are doing to create real positive impact in communities, alongside the AIESEC members who are making these projects possible in our countries. This helped to create an environment of inspiration, cooperation, action and connection - the things members brought back to Venezuela from the conference.

During an incredible seven days of diversity, learning and sharing, delegates developed key skills and competencies that will allow them to lead AIESEC as it becomes increasingly relevant to countries in this region - Latin America, the United States and Spain. Valuable connections were formed between these countries that are allowing AIESEC to deliver experiences to our members and our partners using the power of our unique global network.

Cooperation of the local government and University of Guanajuato allowed delegates not only to experience the diversity of our network but also to experience the culture of this incredible historical city, with events such as a global village showcasing the culture of each country present, and a Mexican night featuring local food, drinks and a stunning mariachi performance.

International conferences form a valuable part of every members learning experience in AIESEC. AIESEC Venezuela would like to thank our partners Holcim Foundation and CEVEDES for their support in making possible the attendence of our delegates.

We look forward to a strong presence for AIESEC Venezuela in AXLDS 2008 which will be hosted in Barcelona, Spain.
